As students, we have seen the changing economic conditions hit many of our fellow students in ways that undermine their ability to complete their degrees. By supporting the We Are Aggie Pride program, you are assisting your fellow students in need, building a stronger sense of community at UC Davis, and helping to ensure that we remain a great university.
We ask that all students donate to the program and spread the word (follow us on Facebook and Twitter right now!). The more visibility we have, the more successful we are. Therefore, we always need volunteers to help coordinate and assist with our presence on campus and at events. We also need students who are willing to provide assistance and leadership in such specialized areas as communications, fundraising strategy, accounting and finance, and other areas.
Contact us now and show your Aggie Pride!
WAAP Leadership Opportunities
One of the great things about serving on the WAAP Board is the leadership opportunities that become available to our students. Our Board members learn how to manage large and small events, oversee current programs and develop new ones they believe in, lead weekly meetings, manage volunteers, create videos, write creative briefs and communications plans, speak to the media, fundraise in person, and work with businesses in the Davis community, just to name a few.
The WAAP advisor team tries to develop and provide as many opportunities as possible for our Board members to develop skills that will help them after the graduate and pursue their individual careers. Many of our Board Members find jobs soon after graduation in part due to the many skills they learn during their time with WAAP.
Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)
Each year We Are Aggie Pride Board Members are given the opportunity to attend a national student conference with CASE ASAP. The convention courses are a great chance to learn about fundraising, network with students from other universities around the world, and visit a new city.
In 2013 WAAP also received the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education ASAP Award for Outstanding External Program. As well, several Board Members have received internships, scholarships and the opportunity to present at national conferences. WAAP also participates every year in Student Engagement and Philanthropy Month in February.

Senior Class Challenge
The Senior Class Challenge is an annual giving program to encourage philanthropy among graduating seniors. Since 1982, UC Davis Seniors have upheld this tradition of showing their appreciation for their time spent in Davis by giving back to the university and their fellow students.
The money raised by the Senior Class Challenge has traditionally supported important college resources through the colleges or the Annual Fund like:
- fellowship awards
- new courses and areas of study
- graduation ceremonies, and
- programs that enrich student life
This year, this philanthropic tradition will also provide support to “We Are Aggie Pride” by contributing to the Students Helping Students Fund.
We ask all seniors to join the thousands of past seniors who have supported your time at Davis by giving $20.16 or more to benefit future students. Please give today.
