School of Education
The next generation of students, teachers, and educational leaders have a brighter future thanks to donor support of the School of Education. With a mission to eliminate inequities and promote social justice in the field, our school prepares the educators of tomorrow to create more inclusive environments for all learners.
Scholarships and fellowships supported by donors have changed the lives of students and the field of education, giving people from all backgrounds the access and inspiration to become the educators of tomorrow. For example, the Guardian Teacher Scholarship supports former foster care youth to pursue careers in teaching in California.
Our research enacts change at a higher level, informing better policies for schools across California. Support for initiatives like Transformative Justice in Education (TJE), a community-university collaboration committed to disrupting race-based inequities, has helped improve outcomes at all levels of our state’s education system.
Donors have also helped us build brand-new classrooms and expand our collaborations across the university, state, and world, ensuring our impact is as wide as possible.
